Kuala Lumpur – Danajamin Nasional Berhad (“Danajamin”), the country’s first Financial Guarantee Insurer is pleased to announce the appointment of Tan Sri Datuk Seri Rashpal Singh Randhay as Independent Non-Executive Director of Danajamin effective 16 June 2021.

Tan Sri Datuk Seri Rashpal has over 30 years of expertise in investment companies, stock brokerage firms, and stock and commodities markets He began his career as a corporate trader with Citivest International before becoming the Corporate Head of Citivest International, where he was in charge of operations in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States of America.  Tan Sri Datuk Seri Rashpal returned to Malaysia to serve as the Chief Representative to South East Asia for Saitama International Investment Bank.

He assumed the role of Advisor to KPMG from 2003 to 2008 and was part of a United Nations initiative under which he was assigned the task of restructuring the Central Bank of Iraq in November 2003 with emphasis on the valuation of the new Iraqi Dinar. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Rashpal was also a Special Advisor to Tenaga Nasional Berhad as well as a Member of the Main Advisory Board of Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) from 2009 to 2015.

From 2015 to 2021, he served as a board member of the Inland Revenue, Malaysia (LHDNM).

He is the founder of the Knight Group of Companies, which now operates in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Sabah and Sarawak, with representative offices in India and the United Kingdom.

Tan Sri Datuk Seri Rashpal has a Masters in Corporate Finance from the University of Liverpool and is currently working on a PhD in microcredit and finance, as well as a Fintech Course at the Imperial College Business School in London. He is also a member of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers and the Malaysian Association of United Nations Associations.
