Danajamin Nasional Berhad (“Danajamin”), the country’s first Financial Guarantee Insurer is pleased to announce the appointment of Rosnah Dato’ Kamarul Zaman as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
Pn. Rosnah has over 25 years of finance and banking industry experience and has played active roles in several bank management committees, including the Credit Committee, which she chaired for several years during her tenure at CIMB.
Her banking experience covers a broad range of services, such as consumer, commercial and corporate banking. Pn. Rosnah also brings with her understanding and familiarity with non-banking businesses and functions including human resources, corporate affairs, corporate planning, communications and public relations. We are confident that she will provide valuable strategic perspective with her appointment as we continue to deliver our mandate.
Pn. Rosnah commenced her career as a Management Trainee with the former Bank of Commerce in 1979. She climbed up the corporate ladder from being a trainee to branch manager. She was subsequently entrusted with several head office functions before retiring as Senior Executive Vice President in 2005, heading the Banking Unit responsible for Retail Banking, Business Banking, Corporate Banking, Treasury and International Banking. She was chosen to attend the Global Leadership Development Program, a government program through Bank Negara to develop the financial industry leaders. Pn. Rosnah had also presented at various local and international seminars on banking.
She was a founding member of the Board of Trustees of CIMB Foundation in 2007 and was appointed as an Independent Director to the Board of CIMB Bank in 2012, and in 2014 as an Independent Director of CIMB Islamic Bank. She was a member of numerous Board committees and was also Chairperson of the Board Risk and Compliance Committee and also Chairperson of the Board Investment Committee. She retired on 18 January 2021 having served the full term of nine years.
